Frigid cold descends on much of the United States. Most people cuddle up in warm houses. I go outside and play.

OK, I only went outside for a bit, just long enough to throw boiling water into the air and watch it freeze. Did I mention I was wearing shorts? And it was -20°F  with a -50° windchill?

It was a really cool experience, in multiple meanings of the word.
